The early hours of Merdeka day 2006 was spent driving up to Camerons with friends for a church retreat. It was a great time of remembering God's awesomeness through His word, His creation - nature and friends that He has put together, not by change but by His will :)
The talks by Dr Tan Soo Inn was refreshing as well. The story of the prodigal son was shared again at camp. This first time I heard it this year was during SIB's e06 conference, just a week before that. When Dr Tan asked us to think of our dad, my phone vibrated. Guess who was calling?? hehehe! none but dad himself! pure coincidential?
Although my time at camp was little short (rushed back on Sat morning for a high school friend's wedding), I truly enjoyed every moment spent with BLCians & non-BLCians :p Missed the presence of Trish but Janice, who's so alike her, came along to provide company.
Thanks again to Kev for driving up & down the winding roads of Camerons and hence, being a true gentleman :) To rest of the BLCians, you know who you are ;) thanks for the great time!
My favourite, orchids! aren't they pretty?

A friend said that I have the above when I speak. I tend to agree :p I have this thing where I say something else. Just yesterday, I exclaimed to my girlfriends,"Desn't she look like Lee Yoon?" and I was pointing at Lee Yoon!! I meant to say another person's name, Steph but I said her name instead!! LOL :D
The same happens when Kok Chiang & Kah Jeng OR Daniel & David are together. I tend to call the wrong names. Does anybody know what this sickness is called??
Aloof Jess :p

It was a blazing hot Sunday (Aug 15) but that didn't deter us from making our voyage to Port Klang. We visited a ship that was 2 years older than the Titanic. It housed 350 volunteers from 35 nations & is famous for it's flooting bookstore. We were blessed to be able to go inside the ship to see what it was like.
Ahoy! we've found our ship Yup, it's the right one ;)
Our troop from FBC Subang Youth A pic of Logos, the ship before Doulos
Inside the kitchen, looks tilted All 11 of us, minus Li-Na who took the pic

I'm closing the doors, This is as far as the journey goes, We won't make it thru the next step, You know it deep inside too
Facing the truth hurts, But it's better than denial, I've tried ignoring the facts, But who are we kidding?
You've been a true friend, Thanks for sharing & caring, Sorry if I've hurt you in anyway, It was unintentional...

dad =) It was father's day yesterday & we decided to eat out. Kenny Roger's chickens have shrunk in size & service was lousy. I requested for a small spoon for my niece & the waiter gave us a set of fork, knife & napkin!!?
After dinner, the rest of the family went home while I went shopping with dad. He bought some heavy duty tools and a working table for his retirement project - build a computer table & bed for me :) Isn't he the best dad ever?? I know, I'm blessed
Decided to treat my dad to a nice cup of coffee at Dome. Dad's one of those who wouldn't fork out more than RM5 for a Kopi O [black coffee]. Thought it would be nice to just chat & chill with my cool dad
Dad's cool because he would sing to the MixFM cruisers to win his daughter free tickets to watch Fame, buy me Take That concert videos (I used to be a huge fan) & is really friendly with my friends
In the father's day card I wrote the following:
Father's are cool because...
1) They always treat you like their prince & princess no matter how old you are
2) They would always encourage you no matter how lousy you are in the game
3) They set high standards for future husbands (my dad has such high standards, I wonder if I can even find someone half as good)
HAPPY Father's day, dad!! You're the best earthly dad anyone could ask for.

Love, your princess

what has my finger & spine have in common??
They both hurt! *oucH* Lord, I need your healing hands. My left index finger got stuck in the way when I closed the car door :/ Went to see my dad's Chiropractor after the nagging pain on my right shoulder didn't disappear after some time. Reta was kind enough to accompany me last Thurs. Thanks!
After analysing my condition, the Chiropractor went on to crack/twist my neck & spine.
Chiropractor: "I want you to abstain from 4 things; 1 - don't sit on the couch or on the floor, sit on a hard chair; 2 - don't carry heavy things, if you must, bend your knees; 3 - don't sit for too long, half an hour the most & 4 - no rigorous exercise like jogging. Your spine is out of alignment. It would take a few weeks to fix it but I've straightened it for you. I'll see you again on Mon."
Me: "Out of alignment??! I've only heard of cars being out of alignment but not someone's back?!" I thought to myself.
After listening to his advise, I could only muster..ok. I was still recovering after he manipulated my back. Actually, it felt real good, like all the knots were loosen :p
Oh, on an embarrassing note, I wore the gown inside out! :p It was in stripes & looked like it used to be a curtain! It could have easily happen <blush> Thank God he didn't notice. Later today will be the third time I'm seeing the chiropractor. Do hope & pray that it'll be the last. Appreciate your prayers. Thanks!
Accident prone & out of alignment, ~Jess
UPDATE: Went to see Chiropractor this morn he said that overall, I'm improving *PTL!* But need to see him again next Sat :/

During Good Friday service, we sung the song Once Again. I admit that I've been going through Lent in a daze. I couldn't decide what to fast from, I was seeking direction in my ministries & work was just overwhelming. But this song reminded me of what Easter was all about.
Jesus Christ, I think about Your sacrifice You became nothing poured out to death Many times I've wondered at Your gift of life And I'm in that place once again I'm in that place once again
Once again I look upon the cross where You died I'm humbled by Your mercy and I'm broken inside Once again I thank You, once again I pour our my life
Thank You for the cross, thank You for the cross Thank You for the cross, my friend
Now You are exalted to the highest place King of the heavens, where one day I'll bow But for now, I marvel at this saving grace And I'm full of praise once again I'm full of praise once again
God made Christ, a sinless person to die for our sins. Christ died so that we could be made right with God through Him. (2 Cor 6:21) We can have a relationship with God because of Christ sacrifice on the cross 2,000 years ago. He so loved us that He gave His only son & if we believe in Christ, we would have eternal life.
May the truth that Christ is risen be our hope & inspiration on this blessed Easter Day! Life is worth the living just because He lives!
